Summary. In the article author analyzes the practice of activity of governmental bodies resposible for control of turnover of drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.

The aim of the study is to analyze the practice of conduction of measures in the sphere of turnover of drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.

Methods. The main method was analysis of official documents devoted to the problems of drug control.

Discussion. The most often measures aim on drug control are conducted by Federal Service on Surveillance in Healthcare and Social Development of Russian Federation, Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Federal Service for Control of Turnover of Drugs, Federal Service on Surveillance for Consumer rights protection and human well-being, Federal Environmental, Engineering and Nuclear Supervision Agency, Ministry of the Russian Federation for Affairs of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief (fire inspection branch), Federal agency for technical regulation and metrology, Ministry of Labour and Social Defence, auditing departments of local governments in regions of the Russian Federation.

The sunjects of control measures are the following:

- Storage capacities for drugs ana psychotropic substances and their conformance to technical safety equipment and fire signal systems$

- Forwarding documents for drugs ana psychotropic substances and quality certificates;

- Standards compliance of narcotic and psychotropic medicines;

- Drugs, psychotic substances and their precursors used in educational, scientific purposes and expertize;

- Equipment, technical means and apparatus necessary for activities related to turnover of drugs, psychotic substances and their precursors etc.

Conclusion. Performance of state drug control policy depends upon efficiency of measures conducted in the sphere of turnover of drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.
