Background: High-performance labor in industries serves as a basis for economic growth, population well-being, decent life and free human development. Therefore it is vitally important to create enabling conditions for such labour – technical, organizational, economic, normal relations between participants of the production process, i.e. owners of labor power (employees) and owners of means of production (employers). The state used to be the owner of means of production and at the same time it was supposed to protect the interests of workers; now its role is different. The state is the go-between in labor relations governed by the current law and also the guarantor of social protection of people through executive and insurance bodies that monitor execution of law and workers’ social security and implement social programs in professional safety, healthcare and rehabilitation of employment injuries. The aim of the study is to substantiate health-protecting technologies aimed at improved quality of life and health status on the basis of comprehensive evaluation of quality of life and lifestyle and factors affecting the morbidity of workers. Objectives: a) to evaluate relations between lifestyle and working conditions and self-assessment of health by workers of the tube rolling mill; b) to develop evidence-based system of organizational preventive measures aimed at developing health-preserving technologies within the labor collective that encourage improvements in quality of life and health status. Results. Health-preserving technologies developed with due regard to non-industrial and industrial risk factors, principles of continuity and step-wise approach showed high medical and social effectiveness and economic efficiency. Practical value. Guidelines on the use of the three-level system of organizational preventive measures on health-preserving technologies were developed based on the study results. Implementation of health-preserving technologies will enhance self-assessment of health by workers and also improve quality of life. Keywords.
