Current medical and demographic and social and economic situation in Russia necessitates the governmental and non-governmental organizations to pursue socially oriented policy and to develop adequate system of social security. Therefore, analysis of doctors’ work environment and heath status is relevant since work of doctors remains one of the most complicated and intensive types of labor activity. This is especially relevant to anesthesiologists-resuscitators. Specific characteristics of this specialty requires improvement of medical awareness, medical, social and preventive activity in the course of basic post-graduate training of anesthesiologists-resuscitators. The purpose of the study was to substantiate organizational and preventive measures to improve work environment and health status of anesthesiologists-resuscitators. Methods: hygienic, medical and social and mathematical analysis; sociological survey, expert review, chronometry of workflow. Results. Estimation of indexes of physical exercise based on chronometry of workflow shows that work load of anesthesiologists-resuscitators can be rated as reasonable – 2.0 (moderate physical activity). Medical examination of doctors shows that indexes of “emotional burnout” indicate that many doctors have already developed tension, resistance and exhaustion. The conducted studies identified that the surveyed anesthesiologists-resuscitators had a high demand for additional consulting with specialists. Need for individual and group prevention among anesthesiologists-resuscitators is rather high and equals to 65.3 per 100 persons. Conclusions. The conducted medical and statistical analysis of additional medical examination of anesthesiologists-resuscitators shows that only 70.5% out of all eligible for regular health examination underwent the examination while 26.2% out of 70.5% - for the first time. To preserve major workforce it is necessary to employ psychologists (psychotherapists) (on a permanent basis) to provide individual and group counseling and ensure timely correction using biofeedback systems. Keywords: workflow; health status; anesthesiologists-resuscitators; prevention; measures.
