Abstract.

Significance. Traffic accidents remain one of the priority healthcare topics both in the Russian Federation and globally due to severe adverse consequences. There is a need for further organization of care for injuries caused by traffic accidents and its quality based on continuous analysis of situation with traffic accidents.

The study purpose – to estimate efficiency of the regional personified informational system for monitoring main indicators of traffic accidents that was introduced in the Astrakhan region.

Methods. Official data of the Federal State Statistics Service for 2011-2015 years were analyzed. Estimation of indicators (on mortality and lethal outcomes) was conducted using data from the regional informational system on care delivery to victims of traffic accidents during January – September 2015 and during the same period in 2016.

Results. Implementation of the regional measures aimed at care improvement to victims of traffic accidents helped to decrease mortality rates from 17.0 to 13.2 per 100,000.

Introduction of the first stage of developing regional personified informational system facilitated receiving timely information demonstrating a positive dynamics of the major monitoring indicators on traffic accidents for 9 months of 2016. A continuous reduction in mortality rates up to 7.7 per 100,000, which is lower than the target (8.7 per 100,000) has been reported.

Conclusion.

1. A high number of traffic accidents and their victims against the background of the growing number of vehicles makes the problem of traffic accidents in the Astrakhan region relevant among other subjects of the Southern Federal District.

2. Introduction of the first stage of the developing regional personified informational system of care delivery to patients with traumas including traffic accidents survivors can be effectively used to monitor measures aimed at reducing mortality from traffic accidents and, in the long term, make managerial decisions on improving care to traffic accidents victims.
