Abstract. Background. Major objectives of the modern national healthcare include meeting public demand for high quality medical care and improved health status of different population segments, that are consumers of medical services. Meeting these objectives requires development and implementation of efficient mechanisms in the context of scare internal resources of health care facilities and their departments.

Unfortunately, positive experience in practical implementation of economic experiments as one of the attempts to develop mechanisms for improving healthcare is yet to be widely disseminated, because their implementation requires change in mentality of both managers and staff of a heath care facility. Not every head of a health care facility is ready to introduce modern medical and organizational and economic technologies because he or she is not mentally ready for reforms and does not believe in positive results of innovations.

The aim of the study was to substantiate activities aimed at enhancing medical and social effects of the medical staff performance.

Objectives of the study included the following: a) to present social and psychological profile of medical staff and dynamics of the profile changes due to introduction of medical and organizational and economic technologies in a medical facility; and b) to develop and introduce a model of health care facility operation in the modern economic context.

Results. In the modern economic context to optimize operation and improve medical and social and economic performance of the health care facility as well as to improve relations between staff, heads of health care facilities should take into consideration methodological, organizational and practical approaches towards implementation of medical and organizational and economic technologies developed on the basis of the study results in their facilities.

Practical implication. Application of the complex of medical and organizational technologies in work of a health care facility was scientifically substantiated.
