Abstract. In 2013, Russia hosted the largest international multi-disciplinary competition - XXVII World Summer Universiade. Preparations for the Universiade also included dealing with numerous medical and organizational challenges affecting timely and efficient delivery of medical care to its participants.

Organization of medical support for international sports events should entertain opinion of health care providers involved. Satisfaction of staff in one of the criteria of the events’ performance.

The purpose was to evaluate organization of medical support for the Universiade from the point of view of health care providers who delivered services to different groups of clients at sports and non-sports sites.

Methods and data. To determine the necessary number of respondents for the sociological survey the author used sampling without replacement. The survey was carried out using a specially designed "Questionnaire to study opinion of health care providers about organization of medical support for the Universiade 2013 in Kazan." 873 health care providers were recruited for the survey.

Results. During the Universiade, 73.7% of respondents provided care to client groups at sports sites, 18.8% - in the medical center of the Universiade Village, and 7.5% - at other sites.

Respondents evaluated level of medical support organization as 8.9±0.2 scores. 38.1% respondents mentioned the need to increase salaries of medical staff. Organization of catering and staff transportation to and from places of work was scored 8.0±0.3 and 7.4±0.4 respectively. Performance of medical directors of the Universiade was scored 9.0±0.2.
